The great Romantic repertoire is the star of the solo piano concert, with the most significant works in the piano literature of German composer Johannes Brahms. Cosy harmonies, soft melodic lines, passages filled with authenticity, tranquillity and a serene resignation; music that is everywhere lofty and severe but never “standoffish”, on the contrary terribly seductive.
